Got a job as a firefighter. Granted, it's a good opportunity for him, but was he not the Ticats starting safety, and a NI to boot? Might not be hard to fill in talent-wise, but certainly ratio-wise. _________________ The lazier you are today, the more productive you'll be tomorrow.
These players that retire... You'd think they'd make this kind of decision in the off season & not during pre season or the regular season. It just screws their team over. I mean, it's not like he didn't know this might happen.
I wish him all the best as a firefighter but the timing is lousy for the Ti Cats.
Jobs like firefighters have a big process that you have to accomplish before they will accept you. You have to pass a physical test, mental test, psych test, background checks, etc.
These aren't jobs that you show up to your local subway with resume in hand asking for a job. It can take months to be accepted. In my own personal experience, when I applied for my current government position, it took almost 3 months before I got into training.

Of course, so if the player wants to be a firefighter then go for it & retire first.
