|
|
Well I guess it's never to early to get things started on this thread!
A buddy and I just scored up a free pair of tickets to the Banjo Bowl and it's our first time heading to Winnipeg for a game (and haven't really been to Winnipeg much before either). Any recommends on places to go and things to do while in town? We're coming down with a group...probably 8-10 people and we're lookin' to have a good time. Does Winnipeg have a big caberat like Regina has for the LDC? Any special events for this game? Tailgating before the game? Is it allowed anywhere? Any cheap hotels close to the stadium (we don't need a 5 star, as long as it's clean and not a crack house...pool, and fridge in the room would be a bonus)? |

Canad Inns Polo Park is right across the street, and has an indoor water park.
They're middle of the road hotels. Not bad... not great. |

We're mostly in the 26-32 year old range (no kids, so the activities don't need to include any family friendly stuff...) |

The Tavern United (one on Main is your best bet I would think..) is a decent place.. good food, good atmosphere, bit pricey though...
Upper Deck sports bar is also a good haunt to check out if your able to travel a bit, its in the mcphillips street station casino..
If you guys ain't into the booze filled party type of events.. there is paintball, airsoft, indoor go-karts and out door go-karting..
a personal fav of mine is rumours comedy club.. great food, awesome comedians (mostly..) and drinks are not too out of this world in price. _________________ -Television. Television is the explanation for this - you see this in bad television...
-Brilliant. So now we got a huge guy theory, and a serial crusher theory. Top notch..

From Regina? I say you should get a room somewhere in the North End.....Selkirk street Manitoba street all great places to stay. Best thing is you can feel safe at night going for walks or leaving your cars un locked. make sure you also sport a red or blue bandanna as the locals of those areas will warm to you if you dress like them. _________________ New Coach, New QB, New Season. The 'New' Occidental hotel is a great establishment, surrounded by plenty of night life near the heart of downtown at the corner of Logan & Main. _________________ http://www.easportsfootball.co.uk/ultimateteam |

Who said Whiskey Dix is the best nightclub in the city..? Are you nuts?! Oh yeah, I'll pay 6$ a drink, yeah solid plan....what about capacity...oh yeah, its full so theres no where to walk around!
The best bar in the city now(used to be Buffalo Bills) is the Palamino. Go there Saturday night boys, guaranteed better time than at Dix!
Just my honest opinion. _________________ The Movie Man |

The best bar in town, whether you are on the prowl or not, and is an all age bar is the spike in Trashcona. The pal is full of snobs and/or posers.
There is world class fishing 30 minutes to the north and if you need guides I can put you on some.
There is a river taxi that you can cruise around in. The Corydon district. I would google "winnipeg tripadvisor" they have some pretty up to daye stuff on there. I use it all the time while traveling.
Taking any wagers on the game? |

Yeah a club full of hot women from 21 to 27 , with an amazing patio = not a good time. If you like to hang out around the cougars and milfs the pal is your place.
Another place you might try is Alive night club. Very good as well |

I'd take Alive over Dix anyday of the week.
But the best bar close to the stadium is Mirrors at the Assiniboine Inn, hands down. _________________ "Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann |
